Our most FAQ is ‘How will the live sets work at my evening reception?’

That’s a great question! So we’ve put together an outline of how things usually pan out. But beware! lol. . . Schedules are excellent things but timings very rarely go as planned at wedding receptions. But honestly, that’s not a bad thing! In our experience, it means everyone’s having a lot of fun and that’s why things are running over. Rest assured, if your timings are off, we are totally flexible and go with the flow, making sure we’re able to move things around to do what’s totally best for you. Anyway, here’s a rough idea of how the magic happens.

We arrive to set up which takes us an hour. We have some pretty splendid equipment to make our special sound and we’re very discreet at setting it all up.

We open with our captivating, spine tingling, goose bumpy, stripped back acoustic set. It’s full of beautiful happy love songs with a fun-loving vibe that’s just perfect at this time in the evening.

We’ll take a little break and play more excellent music using our DJ software, to keep the dance-floor moving! If you like? You can tell us songs you love beforehand and we’ll make sure we play them for you. We want every song we play to be a killer, whether it’s one we perform live or not. We take requests too!

Here comes the second live set and with Michael about to melt faces on the electric guitar, the excitement notches up another gear!

Time for another little breather because we need all the energy we can muster for the big finale. Here are some more floor fillers from our DJ set for you, to keep the electric atmosphere, well, electric!

We’re back on stage and it’s ‘anthem’ time. Hold on to your nearest human now because we’re all about to get giddy! The best way to describe the atmosphere is ‘intoxicating.’ Warning folks . . . This last part gets even more emotional and if your mascara hasn’t run already, it’s going to now!

We’re likely on the verge of losing our voices because we’ve totally sung our hearts out for you! So let’s play you out with our final DJ set as you say your goodbye’s.

Some things you may be wondering about


DJ SERVICE

Our free DJ service is a great way to save you money. We're not professionally kitted out DJ's by any means but we've thousands of songs plus mixing software on our laptop, to save you hiring the additional services of a DJ. It always works brilliantly at keeping the dance floor going, especially because we have years of experience playing at weddings and parties and have a feel for what to play. We hope it doesn’t sound like we're bragging but we must tell you that we have a natural flair for playing the right songs at the right time, which is so important to get right! Oh! And we can take requests too!



THE EARLY EVENING ACOUSTIC SET

We have a beautiful repertoire of acoustic songs which work perfectly at the beginning of the evening. The songs are stripped back acoustic versions of well known and loved songs from all decades and genres. Some are mellow and romantic, others are upbeat and fun! 

We use the same amplification (microphones, speakers etc) for our early evening acoustic set as we do for our floor-filler sets, so we can only perform our acoustic show in the same place as where we'll be set up for the whole night.
 

OUR FEE AND DEPOSIT

We kindly request a 25% deposit to secure the date please.

We’re unable to negotiate our prices because we're already offering the best price we can and most importantly, we charge everyone the same because we want to be fair to all the lovely people who hire us.

There are no agency, management or host fees when you book us directly through our website.

EXPENSES
Travel expenses are included throughout Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex. For other regions, please let us know where you are and we’ll let you know how much it will cost to come to your venue.

NO MANAGEMENT FEES
We manage ourselves to keep our costs as low as we can because we want to make sure as many people as possible can experience first class entertainment on their special day. Under management and agents, our fee would be at least 20% more. Some band managers and agencies charge as much as 40% more in fact. This really isn’t something we want our couples to pay but most of all, we really like to stay in touch with you directly ourselves instead of just turning up on the night with notes from an agent. After all, we will be the ones taking care of you and the music and so it’s important to us that we talk to you directly and get a good feel for what you love.

We limit our bookings to just two a week so that we can look after your celebrations on the night and be completely focused on you, just as you deserve to be taken care of. Playing at more than 2 weddings a week may be more £££ for us but it’s less ‘us’ for you.

We do our best to get back to your enquiries ASAP but because we self-manage, this isn’t always as quickly as we’d like to be able to. We hope you will bear with us and please know that we will get back to you as soon as we can to let you know if we are available.

FOOD AND DRINK
We don’t make requests for food and drink which is usually a standard requirement of most professional bands. We don't want to put you to any trouble or added expense.

SETTING UP
Our fee covers our travel time, an hour to set up, the performance and also the time it takes to pack away. We usually arrive at 6pm ready for a 7.30pm start and midnight finish. If you'd like us to arrive earlier or finish later, please send us your timings at the time of booking and we'll let you know the additional cost.

EQUIPMENT
We’ve invested heavily in sophisticated equipment to deliver a beautiful and well controlled sound and we bring everything necessary to play for you. All we need is electricity please for our amplified performance. If your venue would like us to use their equipment instead of ours, please contact us before proceeding to book, thank you.

SOUND RESTRICTORS | LIMITERS

Some venues have installed sound restrictors/limiters and unfortunately, in our experience, they have always disrupted our performance no matter what decibel range they are set at. This is not because we are overly loud but because installed sound restrictors are triggered by powerful live vocals, musical instruments and audience participation. Our performance includes all of these desirable live music attributes and therefore we are unable to play in venues with installed sound limiters. This is because when triggered (which can be multiple times) the restrictors turn off the electricity to our equipment and it ruins the live performance and fun on the dance-floor.

Your venue should inform you about an installed sound limiter/restrictor prior to booking but in our experience, some fail to do so. Please check with your venue prior to booking us, whether your venue requires us to use their limiter/restrictor. Some venues will agree to turn off the limiter for us to play but this needs to be arranged in advance by the hirer and confirmed in writing please.

Hand held limiters or requests from a venue to keep within a particular decibel range are not a problem for us, as long as the restriction to play live music is not set unrealistically low for live music.
